If I had the access to such a book as Changing Diapers: The Hip Mom’s Guide to Modern Cloth Diapering when I was pregnant with my first
child, I would have started cloth diapering then. Instead, it took me until baby
#3 and I had to do tons of research online all by myself before I was convinced
to try cloth diapering.
All I needed was a nice concise, very informative book that
explained all about cloth diapering. I needed a book like Kelly Wels’ book,
Changing Diapers. This book has it all!
Kelly Wels is big in the cloth diapering world. She owned
and operated www.diapershops.com and www.kellyscloset.com both of which are
two huge online cloth diaper stores. She is a great cloth diaper advocate and
I’m so glad she decided to write this book.
Changing Diapers is the first thing that any parent
interested in cloth diapering should read. In this book, you learn why cloth
diapering is so great; giving you details on how much money you could save to
how much trash disposables produce. The book is peppered with real thoughts
from real cloth diaper parents and tons of eco-friendly tips.
The thing that I found extremely helpful about this book is
the detailed explanations of the styles of diapers and the cloth diaper lingo
that can be oh so confusing to a newbie. Not only are there great explanations but
also there are diagrams of just what each style of diaper looks like and even lists
of some of the popular brands in each style. There are also entire chapters
devoted to some of the hurdles that many cloth diaper parent’s face, such as
daycare, detergents, leaks, and more!
If you are thinking about cloth, new to cloth, or even a cloth
pro you should get this book! This is also a great baby shower gift and I know
I am planning on adding one to a few cloth diaper gifts I’ll be giving this
year!
